I have a bunch of Berkshire Hathaway securities on hand that I bought decades ago, and they're sitting in a safe deposit box. But they're of little practical use to me, and I haven't used any of this wealth. It's also of little use to my family, and has the potential to cause my family harm.

This money could be used by thousands of people to make a real difference in those people's lives.

这么多的钱，对我来说没有多大实际用处，但对世界上其他成千上万的人来说却能有很大的实际用处。这些钱可以用来给人们买疫苗，可以用来提供教育，还可以给各种研究提供资金。这些钱可以给成千上万的人使用，从而真正地改变这些人的生活。

But that money doesn't make much of a difference in my life. I have all the things I want. Even if I had only 1% of my current wealth left, I still have all the things I want. The amount of money won't change my relationships with the people I love or the things I enjoy doing every day. It's true that it's nice to have a lot of money, but I have so much money that money is no longer useful to me. I've spent less than 1% of what I've earned in my life, and I plan to donate the remaining 99% to others.

但这些钱并不能给我的生活带来多大的改变。我拥有所有我想得到的东西。即使我只剩下现有财富的1%，我还是拥有所有我想要的东西。金钱的数量不会改变我和爱的人的关系，也不会改变我每天喜欢做的事情。有很多钱的确是好事，但我的钱太多了，钱对我来说已经没有用了。我这一生花的钱，不及我赚得钱的1%，剩下的99%，我打算都捐给别人。
